Mr M Taylor, Deputy Head of Sixth Form - Academic
My role is to ensure that you are making as much progress as you can in Sixth Form by helping you to show maximum commitment to each of your subjects. I work closely with you and your subject teachers, to remove barriers to your learning and to give you the opportunities to broaden your academic curiosity. I am responsible for getting you ready to apply to University and support with degree/higher apprenticeship applications. Overall, I want to make sure that your time with us is enjoyable and challenging so that you are prepared for University and to become a leader in your community.
Mrs C Young, Deputy Head of Sixth Form - Pastoral
My role is to ensure you feel fully supported with your Sixth Form studies during your time here with us at TDA by helping you to shape your character to thrive as a global citizen. I work closely with the Sixth Form Attendance & Wellbeing Officer and the Student Support Officer to ensure your time here is as productive as possible. Alongside a team of dedicated tutors, and a comprehensive personal development curriculum, we aim to develop key characteristics and provide you with life skills. We are concerned about the holistic wellbeing of each individual student, prioritising your mental and physical wellbeing and providing the key link between school and home, if necessary, to guide you and help you prepare for a successful future.
Mrs A Ali and Miss J Halifax, Progress Support Officers
Based in the study centre, we provide support throughout the school day and after school to ensure you have a positive working environment and know how to make progress in your studies. Focussing on one year group each, we also work with small groups or individual students who need additional support in developing their study skills, are struggling with their wellbeing or are facing barriers to their learning.
