Welcome to the catering service for Thomas Deacon Academy

Our daily food is freshly prepared on site by our own in-house catering team. We offer a varied menu which is changed weekly over a 3-week cycle and captures seasonal produce from our reputable suppliers. All our menus can be found on the TDA website along with all the allergen information.

Our daily offer consists of a main plate either meat based, vegetarian or plant-based offer along with a homemade hot pudding, cakes & cookies, freshly prepared filled baguettes, street food offer, grab & go and jacket potatoes. We offer a money saving meal deal offer for all areas.

The Junior school offer consists of a choice of two hot meals, with vegetables & potatoes, hot or cold pudding. Jacket potatoes as well as self-service salad bar.

We also use in our cooking, low sodium salt and unsaturated fats including an extended rapeseed oil which has omega 3, 6 and 9, vitamin E, essential fatty acids for heart health and brain function, all fish sourced is MSC-certified from sustainable stocks. Our baked beans are low in salt and sugar.

We provide a monthly themed menu across both schools to offer the students a variety of cultured dishes to choose from as well as supporting healthy eating days to support the welfare of all our students.

All our menus have been awarded a silver award from ProVeg a company supporting the education and introduction of plant-based foods within schools. We also hold the Food smart school award which is awarded from Peterborough & Cambridgeshire healthy schools.

We pride ourselves in looking after the welfare of all of our students, staff and visitors and cater for all dietary requirements where possible. We have just launched a partnership with Kitt Medical to install Emergency Allergy Kits in all our refectories. All our menus and foods served clearly shows any allergens which are included within the food item.  All our catering staff are fully trained in Allergen awareness and can offer support to anyone who needs it.

Looking after our environment... All our drinks are in recycled packaging, and we do not sell any plastic bottled drinks. Our packaging is plastic free and made with recyclable products. We recycle all cardboard packaging.
